SYNOPSIS
“Amputación” visualizes the many areas of “amputation” within the US Mexico border throughout history and present times. This investigation of the border exploits the notion of amputation in physical and medical terms to better understand the separation imposed on the region, and how the people who live and cross through the border are affected, to furthermore scrutinize the amputation of history.

FROM THE DIRECTOR
"The development my ‘mestiza consciousness’ has allowed me to explore my experience of liminal space as I virtually cross between the two borders, to visualize a psychological space where the two ideologies can manifest in the same place."
